In recent years, awareness of the importance of martial arts has significantly increased.Martial arts develop the body, boost self-confidence, strengthen the connection between a person and their body, and build mental strength that supports individuals in all aspects of life.
Studies show that children who practice martial arts demonstrate improved focus, organization skills, and better academic performance.
Additional research proves that Krav Maga is one of the most effective physical activities – especially when compared to repetitive activities like running. Why?
Because while the body gets used to repetitive motion (like running) and goes into autopilot, in Krav Maga the brain must stay alert and constantly think.
The result? Both the body and mind develop together – a powerful combination.
Krav Maga is an Israeli combat system designed for real-life situations and threats.
Gaining a practical self-defense skill set can mean the difference between control and vulnerability in a moment of crisis – while also boosting your confidence and sense of capability.
Krav Maga is especially suitable for:
It all began with a Jewish man named Imi Lichtenfeld, a professional boxer and wrestler living in 1930s Czechoslovakia. His father was a senior police detective and self-defense instructor who deeply influenced him.
Imi began teaching unarmed combat techniques to Jewish groups in Bratislava to protect themselves from fascist attacks.Later, he served in the British army, where he learned advanced armed and unarmed combat techniques.
When he arrived in pre-state Israel, he began teaching what was then called Kapap (face-to-face combat), which was based on stick fighting, Western boxing, and Jujutsu. After the establishment of the IDF, Imi was appointed Chief Physical Fitness Instructor – and from there, Krav Maga evolved into the method we know today, now taught worldwide.
Today, Krav Maga is recognized as one of the most effective self-defense systems, widely used by:
Special forces units
Police forces
Military organizations
Security companies
Civilians who want to protect themselves
